Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-15
Short version: We don't collect personal information about you. The calculators run entirely in your browser, your inputs stay on your device, and we don't ask for your name, email, phone number, or address. We use anonymous analytics to count visits, but only if you accept the cookie banner.
What we collect
Analytics (only with your consent). If you accept analytics on this site, we use Google Analytics 4 to count page views, see which calculators are most useful, and understand how people find us. GA4 sets cookies and may collect: your approximate location (city level), your device type, your browser, the pages you visit, and the events you trigger inside the calculators (e.g. "calculator_complete"). We do not collect your name, email, IP address (GA4 anonymizes by default), or any of the numbers you enter into the calculators.
If you decline analytics, we don't load Google Analytics at all and no cookies are set by this site beyond what your browser uses to remember your choice.
Calculator inputs. The numbers you type into our calculators are stored in your browser's localStorage so the form remembers your values between visits. They are not sent to our servers. They are not sent to Google. You can clear them at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
Shareable result URLs. If you click "Share my results," your calculator inputs are encoded into a URL hash that you can copy. That URL only carries information when you choose to share it.
What we don't do
- Sell or share your data with advertisers
- Track you across other websites
- Run advertising cookies or pixels
- Send you marketing email (we don't collect emails)
- Store calculator inputs on our servers
Cookies
We set one small cookie/localStorage entry to remember whether you've accepted or declined analytics. If you accept analytics, Google sets additional cookies (typically _ga and _ga_*) used for measurement. You can clear these any time from your browser's site settings.
Hosting and security
The site is hosted on Hostinger and served over HTTPS. There is no user account system, no database with personal information, and no payment processing. Hostinger acts as a sub-processor for basic server logs (access logs, IP addresses for security purposes), which Hostinger handles under its own privacy policy.
Data retention
Google Analytics retains event-level data for 14 months by default, after which it is aggregated. Your localStorage entries (calculator inputs, consent choice, checklist progress) stay on your device until you clear them.
Your California privacy rights (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act. Because we do not collect names, email addresses, account identifiers, or precise location data, we hold no personal information to delete on request. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a request to opt out of analytics. If you have questions about your rights, email us at the address below.
EU and UK visitors (GDPR / UK GDPR)
Our lawful basis for loading Google Analytics is your explicit consent, which you provide via the cookie banner and may withdraw at any time by clearing site data or declining on a future visit. The data controller is the site operator, reachable at the contact email below. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port any personal data we hold, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Because we do not collect identifying information, most requests will simply confirm that no personal data is on file. Google Analytics processing may involve transfer of anonymized data to the United States under Google's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a decline of analytics, equivalent to clicking "Decline" on the cookie banner. Browser Do Not Track (DNT) headers are not consistently defined and we don't rely on them for consent state.
Children's privacy
This site isn't directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, if changes are significant, post a note on the homepage for a few weeks.
